Beautiful Japanese-inspired Victorian Aesthetic movement brooch (c1870s-1880s), engraved with a bird in bamboo. These brooches are made hollow so nice and light to wear even on modern fabric.

It isn’t hallmarked but is made from silver, and has been tested.

In good antique condition. The C part of the pin has been replaced at some point and there are numbers scratched into the back, which could well be the mark of the jeweller who repaired it.
