Precious topaz, almandine garnets, aquamarines and one chrysoberyl have been combined with an eye for hue, shape and shimmer.
In 18k yellow gold, this two-part brooch pendant can be worn three ways. All together, with the top section as a brooch solo, or with the bottom dangle worn on a chain or ribbon.
The top area has a horizontal orientation and is set with one large oval precious topaz, two pear shaped garnets and four aquamarines.
Next hangs a lively, spring green chrysoberyl drop allowing the bottom to detach. Its snowflake or flower form is set with one cushion cut topaz, four more deep purple, wine red garnets and four aquamarines.
All the gemstones are set closed backed, with foiling beneath into rounded wells of gold. Circa 1820, the gold bead work that surrounds and dots the surfaces, adds immeasurably to the whole.
